The Start of Something
I can’t start this whole thing without telling you a little about us.
Over the past 5 years, we’ve:
Created 7 physical therapy clinics
5 in gyms
1 standalone
Acquired an out of state practice
Built the business to multiple 7 figures
Built a team of 30+ employees
I am Zach and I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy and co-founder of HIDEF Physical Therapy.
Without going into my full story, in 2019 I got tired of working for a corporation and set out to do something on my own.
My business partner Mitch was a defunct business guy turned trainer/nutritionist.
Together, we built this thing to where we are today.
We are just like you. Boots on the ground, putting in work.
This project is mostly for me.
A way to hone my writing skills (You will see, I need work).
To write down the things I have learned and document the process along the way.
Hope you enjoy.
Now to something helpful
You want to know the worst feeling in the world?
Something that kept me up many nights in the early times at HIDEF?
The other day a clinic owner asked me what they can do to get more leads. They are worries about filling up their clinic and they can't seem to find traction.
I remember that feeling. There is almost nothing worse in business.
It's like you are on a boat in the middle of the ocean that is slowly taking on water.
And I don't know about you, but I didn't sign up to be on the Titanic.
So what do you do?
My advice was based on things we have done in the past when encountering these times.
1. Lead with massive action. Nothing will get done if you are sitting on your hands.
I know this sounds like a load of shit. And maybe it is.
But what I do know is that if you take massive action you will feel better about yourself, which will help to keep the anxiety at bay.
"Massive action is the cure-all."
2. Find the right place to apply pressure.
You know those dudes who can break a brick with their bare hand?
Those guys know how to apply pressure in the right place. (Or maybe they are just baked bricks. Not sure how baking makes them soft but I have heard the term).
BUT, remember it still has to be a lot of pressure.
"Give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world."
3. Stay consistent
This isn't a short term fix... no matter how much you want it.
If business was easy, everyone would be doing it.
There are no silver bullets; there are only 1000 golden BBs.
At the end of the day, this goes back to number 1. Massive action.
I’ll go more into detail on these bullets in future posts… I’m just getting warmed up.
